Original as atakamensis and spelled this way several times; there is no evidence for a typographical error. •Valid as Careproctus atakamensis Andriashev 1998 -- (Andriashev 1998:259 [ref. 23579] as atcamensis, Chernova 1998:761 [ref. 24687], Andriashev 2003:84 [ref. 26955], Chernova et al. 2004:5 [ref. 27592]). Current status: Valid as Careproctus atakamensis Andriashev 1998. Liparidae. Distribution: Eastern South Pacific: off northern Chile; known only from the holotype. Habitat: marine.
