Paratypes: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 010090 (1), 051987 (1). •Valid as Doryrhamphus boylei (Kuiter 1998) -- (Allen & Adrim 2003:28 [ref. 26830], Hamilton et al. 2016:Supplement 4 [ref. 35615]). •Valid as Dunckerocampus boylei Kuiter 1998 -- (Allen & Kuiter 2004:5 [ref. 28071], Kuiter 2009:179 [ref. 30404], Golani & Bogorodsky 2010:64 [ref. 35264], Allen & Erdmann 2012:193 [ref. 31980], Daly et al. 2018:4 [ref. 35897], Golani & Fricke 2018:49 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Valid as Dunckerocampus boylei Kuiter 1998. Syngnathidae: Nerophinae. Distribution: Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: Amirantes and Mauritius (Mascarenes) east to Indonesia. Habitat: marine.
