Holotype: ZSI F.2664. Paratypes: ZSI F. 583 (5), F.584 (38), F.852 (144), F.854 (26), F.855 (36), F.856 (28). •Valid as Garra kalakadensis Rema Devi 1993 -- (Rema Devi 1993:202 [ref. 24010], Rema Devi & Indra 1999:55 [ref. 24756], Menon 1999:145 [ref. 24904], Arunachalam et al. 2013:62 [ref. 33195], Arunachalam et al. 2014:67 [ref. 33404], Arunachalam & Nandagopal 2014:48 [ref. 33405], Nebeshwar & Vishwanath 2017:25 [ref. 35484] with date 1992, Bleher 2018:488 [ref. 36647]). Current status: Valid as Garra kalakadensis Rema Devi 1993. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: South Peninsular India. Habitat: freshwater.
