Distribution: Circumglobal in tropical through warm temperate seas (including Mediterranean Sea); but now treated as occurring in the Indian and Pacific oceans per Daly-Engel et al. 2018:[7] [ref. 35806] who recognize Hexanchus vitulus from the Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
