Wu credits to Herre, but we are unable to locate a species lighti in this family described by Herre. •Synonym of Pleuronichthys cornutus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Li & Wang 1995:239 [ref. 16193], Evseenko 2003:S68 [ref. 28535], Evseenko 2004:13 [ref. 27606], Suzuki et al. 2009:285 [ref. 30301]). •Valid as Pleuronichthys lighti Wu 1929 -- (Yokogawa et al. 2014:390 [ref. 35476], Yokogawa et al. 2016:4 [ref. 34955], Vinnikov et al. 2018:159 [ref. 35844], Sonoyama et al. 2020:121 [ref. 37637], Tashiro 2022:85 [ref. 39012]). Current status: Valid as Pleuronichthys lighti Wu 1929. Pleuronectidae: Pleuronichthyinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
