Holotype: ZRC 45288. Paratypes: CMK 13360-4 through -13360-22 (19), ZRC 45289 (2). •Valid as Rhinogobius albimaculatus Chen, Kottelat & Miller 1999 -- (Kottelat 2001:157 [ref. 25780], Chen et al. 2008:341 [ref. 29895], Kottelat 2013:424 [ref. 32989], Huang et al. 2016:[8] [ref. 34339], Takahashi & Okazaki 2017:[2] [ref. 35171], Suzuki et al. 2017:82 [ref. 35202], Taki et al. 2021:441 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Rhinogobius albimaculatus Chen, Kottelat & Miller 1999. Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mekong River basin, central Laos. Habitat: freshwater.
