Current status: Valid as Dibranchus tremendus Bradbury 1999. Ogcocephalidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico south to Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), including Caribbean Sea; eastern Atlantic: Gabon south to Namibia. Habitat: marine.
