No. 10; ref. 24182] Trindade, Martin Vaz Islands, off southeastern Brazil, South Atlantic, 20°31'S, 29°19'W. Holotype: MZUSP 51243. Paratypes: MZUSP 51245-46 (1, 1), 51429-30 (10, 1), 51432 (4); UFPB 3547 (1); ZUEC 2688-89 (1, 1), 3031 (1), 3155-56 (1, 1). •Synonym of Stegastes fuscus (Cuvier 1830), but a valid subspecies trindadensis -- (Gasparini & Floeter 2001:1645 [ref. 25634], Carter & Kaufman 2003:1696 [ref. 27102], Pinheiro et al. 2015:23 [ref. 34324], Parenti 2021:83 [ref. 38418]). •Valid as Stegastes trindadensis Gasparini, Moura & Sazima 1999 -- (Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:91 [ref. 27192], Carvalho-Filho 2023:195 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Stegastes trindadensis Gasparini, Moura & Sazima 1999. Pomacentridae: Microspathodontinae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Trindade and Martim Vaz Archipelago, Espírito Santo (Brazil) endemic. Habitat: marine.
