Holotype: MZUSP 52361. Paratypes: MNRJ 11210 (1); MZUSP 52362-70 (25), 52371-74 (7, 3 c&s). Not treated in Vari in Reis et al. 2003:60 [ref. 27061], added in Corrigenda (2005). •Valid as Steindachnerina corumbae Pavanelli & Britski 1999 -- (Netto-Ferreira & Vari 2011:523 [ref. 31707]). •Valid as Cyphocharax corumbae (Pavanelli & Britski 1999) -- (Melo et al. 2018:[12] [ref. 35986], Reis et al. 2020:461 [ref. 38364] as cf. corumbae, Dillman & Vari 2024:319 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Cyphocharax corumbae (Pavanelli & Britski 1999). Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: Rio Corumbá drainage, upper Rio Paraná basin (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
