L.] 1999:1, Figs. 1-3 [Revue française d'Aquariologie Herpétologie v. 26 (no. 1/2); ref. 24281] Janauari Lake, at confluence of Rio Negro and Rio Solimões, Manaus County, Amazonas, Brazil, about 3°20'S, 60°12'W. Holotype: MZUSP 6893. Paratypes: MZUSP 48509 (2), USNM 306876 (1). Plus additional non-type material. Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[28] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Rhamphichthys drepanium Triques 1999 -- (Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:493 [ref. 27061], Carvalho et al. 2011:405 [ref. 31553], Carvalho & Albert 2015:40 [ref. 33681], Ferraris et al. 2017:[28] [ref. 35236], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:66 [ref. 35633], Lasso et al. in Lasso & Morales-Betancourt 2022:100 [ref. 40783], Carvalho & Albert 2023:18 [ref. 40654]). Current status: Valid as Rhamphichthys drepanium Triques 1999. Rhamphichthyidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco River basins (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
