Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:25 [ref. 30117]. •Appears to be a synonym of Apogon argyrogaster Weber 1909 -- (Fraser 2000:253 [ref. 24412], Fraser pers. comm. 3/2008). •Valid as Jaydia photogaster (Gon & Allen 1998) -- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:383 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:72 [ref. 33932], Mabuchi et al. 2014:202 [ref. 33426], Gon et al. 2015:288 [ref. 33858], Fraser & Prokofiev 2016:239 [ref. 34742], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:170 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Jaydia photogaster (Gon & Allen 1998). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: eastern Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea, north to Philippines. Habitat: marine.
