Type catalog: Golani 2006:26 [ref. 28840] with paratypes as HUJ 11984 (2) and 12007 (6). •Valid as Apogon zebrinus Fraser, Randall & Lachner 1999 -- (Gon & Randall 2003:27 [ref. 26750], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S106 [ref. 27377]). •Valid as Nectamia zebrinus (Fraser, Randall & Lachner 1999) -- (Fraser 2008:44 [ref. 29471], Mabuchi et al. 2014:202 [ref. 33426], DiBattista et al. 2015:21 [ref. 35706], Fraser et al. 2022:219 [ref. 39752]). •Valid as Nectamia zebrina (Fraser, Randall & Lachner 1999) -- (Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[16] 254 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:76 [ref. 36273], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:174 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Nectamia zebrina (Fraser, Randall & Lachner 1999). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Red Sea; northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden. Habitat: marine.
