Current status: Valid as Barbodes rhombeus (Kottelat 2000). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: northern Malay Peninsula, Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia; introduced in Singapore. Habitat: freshwater.
