(1). •Valid as Puntius rhombeus Kottelat 2000 -- (Freyhof et al. 2000:95 [ref. 25184], Kottelat 2001:74 [ref. 25780]). •Valid as Barbodes rhombeus (Kottelat 2000) -- (Kottelat 2013:79 [ref. 32989], Kottelat 2015:40 [ref. 33971], Ren et al. 2020:[6] [ref. 37805], Sobri et al. 2021:[3] 658 [ref. 38823], Tan & Husana 2021:320 [ref. 38614], Kottelat & Lim 2021:531 [ref. 38873], Taki et al. 2021:129 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Barbodes rhombeus (Kottelat 2000). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: northern Malay Peninsula, Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia; introduced in Singapore. Habitat: freshwater.
