Specific name is a declinable adjective. •Valid as Sinocrossocheilus microstomatus Wang & Chen 1989 -- (Zhang et al. in Yue 2000:235 [ref. 25272], Su et al. 2003:427 [ref. 26953], Chen et al. 2006:84 [ref. 28657]). •Valid as Hongshuia microstomata (Wang & Chen 1989) -- (Yuan et al. 2008:46 [ref. 29667] as microstomatus, Zhang et al. 2016:112 [ref. 34477] as microstomatus, Zeng et al. 2022:10 [ref. 39775]). Current status: Valid as Hongshuia microstomata (Wang & Chen 1989). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: East Asia: Hongshui He drainage, middle Pearl River basin, China. Habitat: freshwater.
