Current status: Valid as Scorpaenopsis longispina Randall & Eschmeyer 2002. Scorpaenidae: Scorpaeninae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), Mozambique, Madagascar and Mascarenes (La RĂ©union, Mauritius, Rodrigues) east to Philippines and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to Dampier Archipelago (Western Australia), Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
