S.] 2002:549, Figs. 2-3 [Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington v. 115 (no. 3); ref. 26376] Lake Kinkony, 16°05'37.7"S, 45°51'37.4"E, Mahavavy (du sud) drainage basin, south of Mitsinjo, Majunga Province, Madagascar. Holotype: UMMZ 238724. Paratypes: AMNH 232398 (10); UMMZ 199406 [ex. MNHN 60579] (3), 235024 (29, 3 c&s). Plus non-type material. Type catalog: Fricke et al. 2018:253 [ref. 35805]. •Valid as Paretroplus dambabe Sparks 2002 -- (Sparks 2008:90 [ref. 29766], Sparks & Schelly 2011:57 [ref. 31173], Fricke et al. 2018:252 [ref. 35805]). Current status: Valid as Paretroplus dambabe Sparks 2002. Cichlidae: Etroplinae. Distribution: Madagascar: Lake Kinkony endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
