Paratypes: MUMF 531/9 (1). •Valid as Barilius chatricensis Selim & Vishwanath 2002 -- (Mayanglambam & Vishwanath 2012:2363 [ref. 31817], Arunkumar et al. 2023:72 [ref. 40043]). •Questionably a synonym of Opsarius barnoides (Vinciguerra 1890) -- (Kottelat 2013:131 [ref. 32989], Bleher 2018:619 [ref. 36647]). •Valid as Opsarius chatricensis (Selim & Vishwanath 2002) -- (Arunkumar & Moyon 2017:167 [ref. 35774], Moyon & Arunkumar 2019:5 [ref. 37054], Kumari et al. 2024:8 [ref. 40818]). Current status: Valid as Opsarius chatricensis (Selim & Vishwanath 2002). Danionidae: Chedrinae. Distribution: South Asia: Chatrikong River basin, Manipur, India. Habitat: freshwater.
