Paratypes: ASU 8447 (4), 9936 (4); UMMZ 208179 (86), 21311 [ex UAZ 75-102] (39); UANL 15012 (8); UAZ 75-103 (32); UNAM 13105 (8). •Valid as Gila brevicauda Norris, Fischer & Minckley 2003 -- (Nelson et al. 2004:70 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2005:18 [ref. 28940], Miller 2006:120 [ref. 28615], Minckley & Marsh 2009:120 [ref. 31114], Page et al. 2013:71 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Gila brevicauda Norris, Fischer & Minckley 2003. Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Candameña River, Pacific Slope of Mexico. Habitat: freshwater.
