Holotype: USNM 121683. Paratypes: USNM 326142 (1). Plus additional material [not treated as paratypes]. Also appeared as new in Poeser 2003:372 [ref. 27075]. Not a member of the subgenus Molllienesia, see, Huber 2019:124 [ref. 36941] •Synonym of Poecilia dauli Meyer & Radda 2000 -- (Meyer (2015):217 [ref. 34698]). •Valid as Poecilia wandae Poeser 2003 -- (Poeser 2003:149 [ref. 26783], Poeser 2003:364 [ref. 27075], Lucinda & Reis 2005:45 [ref. 29205], Ho et al. 2016:40 [ref. 34400], Palacios et al. 2016:232 [ref. 34629], Huber 2019:123 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Poecilia wandae Poeser 2003. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Lake Maracaibo basin, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
