bathyperimensis, Neomerinthe Zajonz [U.] & Klausewitz [W.] 2002:1482, Figs. 1-2, 3a [Journal of Fish Biology v. 61 (no. 6); ref. 26817] Strait of Perim, northwestern of Perim Island, Yemen, southern Red Sea, 12°43.7'N, 43°15.0'E, MINDIK-Expedition, River V. Meteor cruise 5, station 230, depth 228-235 meters. Holotype (unique): SMF 29278. The specimen is an abnormal one, lacking anal fin spines. •Valid as Neomerinthe bathyperimensis Zajonz & Klausewitz 2002-- (Motomura et al. 2011:60 [ref. 31308]). •Synonym of Neomerinths erostris (Alcock 1896) -- (Motomura et al. 2015:530 [ref. 33980], Golani & Fricke 2018:53 [ref. 36273], Fricke et al. 2023:26 [ref. 40204]). Current status: Synonym of Neomerinthe erostris (Alcock 1896). Scorpaenidae: Scorpaeninae. Habitat: marine.
