Paratypes: CMK 17774 (10), 17829 (3), 17943 (215); MHNG 2644.25 (10); NRM 49891 (10); ZRC 47858 (3), 49125 (10). •Valid as Botia kubotai Kottelat 2004 -- (Ng 2007:42, 47 [ref. 29316], Grant 2007:38 [ref. 29922], Kottelat 2012:16 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:124 [ref. 32989], Kottelat 2013:173 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Botia kubotai Kottelat 2004. Botiidae: Botiinae. Distribution: Headwaters of Ataran basin, Salween River system, Myanmar and Thailand (border area). Habitat: freshwater.
