Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:302 [ref. 29155]. •Questionably a synonym of Malapterurus shirensis Roberts 2000 -- (Ferraris 2007:302 [ref. 29155]). Current status: Synonym of Malapterurus shirensis Roberts 2000. Malapteruridae. Distribution: Zambezi River system, Africa [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
