Holotype: KFRI F900. Paratypes: CLTV F11541 (2), KFRI F901 (3). First appeared as remadevii, but named for K. Rema Devi, who is a woman, the correct species epithet would be remadeviae, not to be corrected according to the ICZN. •Valid as Mesonoemacheilus remadevii Shaji 2002 -- (Kottelat 2012:89 [ref. 32367], Anoop et al. 2017:124 [ref. 35652], Bleher 2018:152 [ref. 36647]). Current status: Valid as Mesonoemacheilus remadevii Shaji 2002. Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Western Ghats (Kerala, India). Habitat: freshwater.
