M.] 2003:176, Figs. 1-3 [Arquivos do Museu Nacional de Rio de Janeiro v. 61 (no. 3); ref. 27578] Brook tributary to Igarapé Iauiari, about 0°14.31'N, 68°03.48'W, tributary of Uaupés River which is a tributary of Negro River, Amazon basin, Amazonas, northern Brazil. Holotype: MCP 29751. Paratypes: MCP 29752 (1); UFRJ 5447 (2), 5448 (4, c&s). Named after U. Römer, so being based on a German name the name has to be corrected to roemeri (ICZN Art. 32.5.1). •Valid as Rivulus roemeri Costa 2003 (often seen as romeri) -- (Costa 2004:4 [ref. 27570], Costa 2004:11 [ref. 27656], Costa 2004:2 [ref. 27923], Costa 2006:157 [ref. 28875] in subgenus Owiyeye, Schindler & Valdesalici 2011:109 [ref. 31382], Vermeulen 2023:109 [ref. 40177]). •Valid as Laimosemion romeri (Costa 2003) -- (Costa 2011:240 [ref. 31655], Costa & Bragança 2013:93 [ref. 32797], Costa & Lazzarotto 2014:372 [ref. 33247], Valdesalici 2016:279 [ref. 34270], Valdesalici & Nielsen 2017:102 [ref. 35496]). •Valid as Laimosemion roemeri (Costa 2003). Current status: Valid as Laimosemion roemeri (Costa 2003). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Upper Negro River basin, northern Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
