Paratypes: F/GUZ 1215 (2). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:17 [ref. 29155]. In earlier verions of the Catalog of Fishes, this name was attributed to a later work (Tamang 1993) and authorship as a nomen nudum. Current status: Valid as Amblyceps apangi Nath & Dey 1989. Amblycipitidae. Distribution: South Asia: Ganga-Brahamputra River basin, Arunachal Pradesh, India and Bhutan. Habitat: freshwater.
