arunachalensis, Amblyceps Nath [P.] & Dey [S. C.] 1989:3, Fig. 3 [Journal Assam Scientific Society v. 32 (no. 1); ref. 27958] Dikrong River, Arunachal Pradesh, India. Holotype: GUZ 1213. Paratypes: GUZ 1214 (2). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:17 [ref. 29155]. Apparently unaware of the description above, Tamang 1993 [ref. 20803] listed this species as Amblyceps deyi in a list; A. deyi is a nomen nudum and unavailable. The gender of Amblyceps is neuter. •Synonym of Amblyceps mangois (Hamilton 1822) -- (Ng 2005:247 [ref. 28495]). •Valid as Amblyceps arunachalense Nath & Dey 1989 (often seen as arunachalensis) -- (Jayaram 2006:153 [ref. 28762], Ferraris 2007:17 [ref. 29155], Humtsoe & Bordoloi 2009:109 [ref. 30106], Ng & Wright 2010:56 [ref. 31035], Darshan et al. 2016:8 [ref. 34177], Dahanukar et al. 2016:225 [ref. 34425] as arunachalensis, Ng & Kottelat 2018:[7] [ref. 35728], Abujam et al. 2022:147 [ref. 39018] as arunachalensis, Singh et al. 2022: 7 [ref. 39071] as arunachalensis, Limbu et al. 2024:3 [ref. 41403], Vijayakrishnan & Praveenraj 2024:592 [ref. 40599] as arunachalensis). Current status: Valid as Amblyceps arunachalense Nath & Dey 1989. Amblycipitidae. Distribution: South Asia: Brahmaputra River basin, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram (India and Nepal). Habitat: freshwater.
