Paratypes: CMK 14890 (4), 14896 (5); ZRC 49207 (4). •Valid as Zhuquella boa (Chen & Kottelat 2005) -- (Endruweit 2024:173 [ref. 41040]). •Valid as Rhinogobius boa Chen & Kottelat 2005 -- (Chen et al. 2008:341 [ref. 29895], Kottelat 2013:424 [ref. 32989], Huang et al. 2016:[8] [ref. 34339], Takahashi & Okazaki 2017:[2] [ref. 35171], Suzuki et al. 2017:82 [ref. 35202]). Current status: Valid as Rhinogobius boa Chen & Kottelat 2005. Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: northern Vietnam, close to the border with China. Habitat: freshwater.
