Paratypes: NRM 40924 (12), 40936 (2), 40948 (1). •Valid as Puntius tiantian Kullander & Fang 2005 -- (Kullander 2008:59 [ref. 29716], Kullander & Britz 2008:61 [ref. 29861], Knight et al. 2012:2414 [ref. 31841]). •Valid as Pethia tiantian (Kullander & Fang 2005) -- (Pethiyagoda et al. 2012:81 [ref. 32071], Mayanglambam & Vishwanath 2013:88 [ref. 32976], Kottelat 2013:141 [ref. 32989], Katwate et al. 2014:5814 [ref. 33390], Shangningam & Vishwanath 2018:590 [ref. 35803]). Current status: Valid as Pethia tiantian (Kullander & Fang 2005). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Putao, Chindwin-Irrawaddy basin, northern Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
