heikoi, Moenkhausia Géry [J.] & Zarske [A.] 2004:30, Figs. 1-7 [aqua, Journal of Ichthyology and Aquatic Biology v. 9 (no. 1); ref. 28287] Rio Iriri, a left-hand tributary of the Rio Xingu well above Altamira, at edge of island between Rio Novo and Igarapé Grota, about 10 kilometers below mouth of River Novo, Para, Brazil, about 4°25'S, 53°40'W. Holotype: MZUSP 83536. Paratypes: MHNG 2644.30 (1), MTD F 27909 (1). Plus one non-type specimen. •Valid as Moenkhausia heikoi Géry & Zarske 2004 -- (Lima et al. 2006:32 [ref. 32268], Pastana & Dagosta 2014:395 [ref. 33384], Marinho et al. 2016:248 [ref. 34376], Lima & Flausino 2016:94 [ref. 34408], Soares et al. 2017:261 [ref. 35237], Marinho & Benine 2024:228 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Moenkhausia heikoi Géry & Zarske 2004. Acestrorhamphidae: Stichonodontinae. Distribution: South America: Xingu River basin, Pará, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
