Holotype: MUSM 11093. Paratypes: MNHN 1988-1995 (1), 1988-1998 (3), 1988-2012 (1); MZUSP 27812 (6, 1 c&s). Plus one non-type specimen. Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:132 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Cetopsis pearsoni Vari, Ferraris & de Pinna 2005 -- (de Pinna et al. 2007:804 [ref. 29247], Ferraris 2007:132 [ref. 29155], Sarmiento et al. 2014:190 [ref. 35004], Abrahão & de Pinna 2018:117 [ref. 35957], Abrahão & de Pinna 2018:117 [ref. 35957]). Current status: Valid as Cetopsis pearsoni Vari, Ferraris & de Pinna 2005. Cetopsidae: Cetopsinae. Distribution: Upper Madeira River basin, southeastern Peru and northeastern Bolivia. Habitat: freshwater.
