Current status: Valid as Knodus tanaothoros (Weitzman, Menezes, Evers & Burns 2005). Stevardiidae: Diapominae. Distribution: South America: Suiá-Missu River drainage, Tapajós River basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
