Holotype: BMNH 2005.6.7.44. Paratypes: BMNH 2005.6.7.45-57 (13), 2005.6.7.58-60 (3 c&s), 2005.6.7.63-68 (6). Plus non-type material. •Valid as Barboides britzi Conway & Moritz 2006 -- (Hayes & Armbruster 2017:351 [ref. 35417]). Current status: Valid as Barboides britzi Conway & Moritz 2006. Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Lokoli Swamp Forest, Benin, western Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
