Paratypes: CMK 18474 (5), 18540 (9), 18549 (1); ESFM-PISI/2004-073 (4); FFR 711 (9), 712 (16), 720 (3). •Valid as Capoeta banarescui Turan, Kottelat, Ekmekçi & Imamoğlu 2006 -- (Fricke et al. 2007:34 [ref. 29533], Özuluğ & Freyhof 2008:293 [ref. 29981], Bektaş et al. 2011:65 [ref. 31470], Levin et al. 2012:544 [ref. 33912] as cf. banarescui, Çiçek et al. 2015:143 [ref. 35151], Zareian et al. 2016:72 [ref. 34282], Elp et al. 2018:103 [ref. 35851]). •Synonym of Capoeta tinca (Heckel 1843) -- (Çiçek et al. 2018: 26 [ref. 36267]). Current status: Valid as Capoeta banarescui Turan, Kottelat, Ekmekçi & Imamoğlu 2006. Cyprinidae: Barbinae. Distribution: Çoruh River drainage, Turkey and Georgia. Habitat: freshwater.
