Current status: Valid as Leptophilypnus guatemalensis Thacker & Pezold 2006. Eleotridae: Eleotrinae. Distribution: Southern North America: upper Rio Usumacinta system draining into the Gulf of Mexico west of Yucatan Peninsula (Guatemala). Habitat: freshwater.
