Paratypes: JFMB 39170 (2, 1 c&s), 42647 (3 tissues); USNM 387047 (2). •Valid as Noturus maydeni Egge 2006 -- (Scharpf 2006:18 [ref. 30386], Ferraris 2007:441 [ref. 29155], Page & Burr 2011:359 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:84 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:79 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Noturus maydeni Egge 2006. Ictaluridae. Distribution: North America: Black and St. Francis river basins of Ozark Uplands, Missouri and Arkansas (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
