C.] 2007:151, Figs. 1-2 [Copeia 2007 (no. 1); ref. 29039] Rio Paranaíba basin, Município de Catalão, Córrego Fundo, just above bridge along dirt road, right hand tributary of Rio São Marcos, 18°07'29"S, 47°43'27"W, Goiás, Brazil. Holotype: LIRP 5638. Paratypes: LIRP 3401 (4), 4020 (2, c&s); MNRJ 28723 (10); MZUSP 88367 (3); USNM 373495 (10). Plus non-type specimens. •Valid as Astyanax bockmanni Vari & Castro 2007 -- (Oliveira et al. 2017:179 [ref. 35587], da Graça et al. 2017:12 [ref. 35556]). •Valid as Psalidodon bockmanni (Vari & Castro 2007) -- (Azevedo-Santos et al. 2020:5 [ref. 39606], Reis et al. 2020:460 [ref. 38364], Terán et al. 2020:10 [ref. 37440], Brandão et al. 2023:95 [ref. 40464], Quintela et al. 2023:6 [ref. 40727]). Current status: Valid as Psalidodon bockmanni (Vari & Castro 2007). Acestrorhamphidae: Acestrorhamphinae. Distribution: South America: upper Paraná River basin, Goiás and Minas Gerais (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
