Paratypes: LIRP 5723 (7), MZUSP 91630 (3), UMSS 935 (12). •Valid as Knodus shinahota Ferreira & Carvajal 2007 -- (Román-Valencia et al. 2013:130 [ref. 32807], Esguícero & Castro 2014:47 [ref. 33506], Sarmiento et al. 2014:185 [ref. 35004], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Deprá et al. 2021:24 [ref. 38180]). Current status: Valid as Knodus shinahota Ferreira & Carvajal 2007. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Mamoré River drainage, Bolivia and Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
