Nomen Protectum. Current status: Valid as Phoxinus septimaniae Kottelat 2007. Leuciscidae: Phoxininae. Distribution: Western Europe: Rhône River basin and the French coastal Mediterranean catchments, France; introduced to the Roya and Rhine River drainages and Lakes Geneva and Ceresole (Italy). Habitat: freshwater.
