Holotype: MHNG 2680.072. Paratypes: CMK 12912 (2), 12918 (38); HCMR 1553 (10); MHNG 2680.073 (10). •Valid as Phoxinus strymonicus Kottelat 2007 -- (Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:230 [ref. 29996], Barbieri et al. 2015:59 [ref. 35029], Palandačić et al. 2017:14 [ref. 35519] with question, Bayçelebi et al. 2024:107 [ref. 40795]). Current status: Valid as Phoxinus strymonicus Kottelat 2007. Leuciscidae: Phoxininae. Distribution: Southeastern Europe: Struma River basin, Macedonia, Greece and Bulgaria. Habitat: freshwater.
