Plus non-type material. •Valid as Moenkhausia diamantina Benine, Castro & Santos 2007 -- (Sousa et al. 2010:262 [ref. 30863], Marinho & Langeani 2010:887 [ref. 30927], Marinho et al. 2016:248 [ref. 34376], Silva et al. 2020:6 [ref. 37809]). Current status: Valid as Moenkhausia diamantina Benine, Castro & Santos 2007. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: upper and middle Paraguaçu River (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
