Holotype: UMSS 1785. Paratypes: MNKP 5373 (2). •Valid as Phreatobius sanguijuela Fernández, Saucedo, Carvajal-Vallejos & Schaefer 2007 -- (Sarmiento et al. 2014:191 [ref. 35004], Ohara et al. 2016:1286 [ref. 34672]). Current status: Valid as Phreatobius sanguijuela Fernández, Saucedo, Carvajal-Vallejos & Schaefer 2007. Phreatobiidae. Distribution: Subterranean waters [wells 6-12 m deep], near Paraguá River, Iténez River basin, Bolivia and Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
