Holotype: DZSJRP 6217. Paratypes: DZSJRP 8781 (1262), 8809 (208), 9051(1399), 10796 (394, 3 c&s); LIRP 6004 (2); MCVP 41759 (20); MNRJ 31197 (20), MZUEL 4904 (20); MZUSP 95001 (30); UFRGS 8869 (50). Type catalog: Andrade et al. 2017:439 [ref. 35588]. •Valid as Hemigrammus parana Marinho, Carvalho, Langeani & Tatsumi 2008 -- (Albornoz-Garzón et al. 2019:938 [ref. 36872], Lima & Marinho 2024:179 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Hemigrammus parana Marinho, Carvalho, Langeani & Tatsumi 2008. Acestrorhamphidae: Pristellinae. Distribution: South America: Araguaia-Tocantins River basin, introduced into the upper Paraná system, southeastern Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
