D.] 2008:9, Fig. 9 [Voprosy Ikhtiologii v. 48 (no. 1); ref. 29549] Severskii Donets River basin of the Don River, near the village of Starodubovka, Staraya Stanitsa, Siberia, Russia. Holotype: ZMUU R-21654. Paratypes: ZMMU R -21655 (6). Plus unspecified material. •Synonym of Cobitis melanoleuca Nichols 1925, but a valid subspecies gladkovi Vasil'ev & Vasil'eva 2008 as described. •Synonym of Cobitis melanoleuca Nichols 1925 -- (Parin et al. 2014:100 [ref. 33547], Perdices et al. 2014:35 [ref. 35463], Dyldin et al. 2020:109 [ref. 37569]). •Valid as Cobitis gladkovi Vasil'ev & Vasil'eva 2008 -- (Kottelat 2012:25 [ref. 32367], Dyldin et al. 2020:87 [ref. 37569]). Current status: Valid as Cobitis gladkovi Vasil'ev & Vasil'eva 2008. Cobitidae. Distribution: Eurasia: Basins of the Volga, Don, Kuban and Eya rivers and brackish bays of the northern Caspian Sea. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
