Current status: Valid as Phalloceros alessandrae Lucinda 2008. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: South America: flooded areas near Antonia (Paraná) and Dois de Favereiro River, which flows into Paranaguá Bay, southeastern Mata Atlantica (Paraná State, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
