Current status: Valid as Phalloceros megapolos Lucinda 2008. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: South America: São João and Cubatão (norte) rivers and small adjacent drainages which flow into Guaratuba Bay, southeastern Mata Atlantica (Paraná State, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
