spiloura, Phalloceros Lucinda [P. H. F.] 2008:150, Figs. 48-49, 52 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 6 (no. 2); ref. 29669] Creek about 200 meters from arroio do Padre, Itati, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, 29°29'04"S, 50°06'58"W. Holotype: MCP 30401. Paratypes: MCP 20293 (18), 28776 (2), 29270 (256, 6 c&s), 28731 (8), 29082 (27). Plus non-type specimens. Species epithet is a noun in apposition. •Valid as Phalloceros spiloura Lucinda 2008 -- (Meyer 2015:189 [ref. 34698], Bertaco et al. 2016:423 [ref. 34561], Huber 2019:90 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Valid as Phalloceros spiloura Lucinda 2008. Poeciliidae: Poeciliinae. Distribution: Iguaçu River and coastal drainages, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
