Holotype: NRM 37262. Paratypes: 78 specimens at NRM. •Valid as Puntius nankyweensis Kullander 2008 -- (Kullander & Britz 2008:61 [ref. 29861]). •Valid as Pethia nankyweensis (Kullander 2008) -- (Pethiyagoda et al. 2012:81 [ref. 32071], Malanglambam & Vishwanath 2013:88 [ref. 32976], Kottelat 2013:141 [ref. 32989], Katwate et al. 2014:244 [ref. 33433], Shangningam & Vishwanath 2018:590 [ref. 35803] as namkyweensis, Shangningam & Kosygin 2023:17 [ref. 39886]). Current status: Valid as Pethia nankyweensis (Kullander 2008). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: South Asia: small streams near Myitkyina, Chindwin-Irrawaddy basin, Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
