Holotype: SWFC 2002030003. Paratypes: SWFC 9902138-139 (2), 200203001-002 (2), 200203004-005 (2), 200104001-003 (3). Name used as an adjective, so correct spelling is Pseudecheneis paucipunctata. •Valid as Pseudecheneis paucipunctata Zhou, Li & Yang 2008 -- (Anganthoibi & Vishwanath 2010:199 [ref. 31042], Kottelat 2013:231 [ref. 32989]). •Valid as Pseudechenus paucipunctatus Zhou, Li and Yang 2008 -- (Zhang et al. 2016:177 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Pseudecheneis paucipunctata Zhou, Li & Yang 2008. Sisoridae: Glyptosterninae. Distribution: Branches of the Nujing River, Salween River drainage, Yunnan Province, China. Habitat: freshwater.
