Paratypes: AMNH 13788 (2); AMS I.27510-001 [ex. WAM P.27803-006] (2); USNM 217239 (1), 217242 (2); WAM P.27803-006 (9), P.28413-004 (1). Plus non-type material. Appeared first in Allen et al. 2008:170 [ref. 30265] but not intentionally described as new. •Valid as Glossogobius robertsi Hoese & Allen 2009 -- (Hoese & Allen 2015:214 [ref. 33880], Parenti 2021:166 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Glossogobius robertsi Hoese & Allen 2009. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: New Guinea: upper Fly River system (Papua New Guinea); ?Ajkwa River, West Papua (Indonesia). Habitat: freshwater.
