Paratype: Technically the specimen depicted in a Castelnau water color painting (reproduced as Fig. 6 by Larson) from Singapore. •Valid as Bostrychus scalaris Larson 2008 -- (Kottelat 2013:389 [ref. 32989], Hoang et al. 2014:107 [ref. 33161], Parenti 2021:20 [ref. 38603], Taki et al. 2021:424 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Bostrychus scalaris Larson 2008. Eleotridae: Butinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. Habitat: brackish.
